Spokle - Facebook Marketing
Sydney-based start-up Spokle aims to give all children a voice.
The innovative speech therapy app was created by Elisabeth Yunarko following her time working with hearing impaired children in Indonesia. Realising speech therapy services were simply inaccessible to many families, Elisabeth was compelled to do something to close the gap. In partnership with leading experts from Australia and New Zealand, Andrew Kendrick and Gia Kuek, Spokle was born.
Spokle’s two major launch markets are Indonesia and The Philippines. Both countries have a shortage of qualified speech and language therapists. This results in children who face challenges with spoken communication, such as those with autism spectrum disorder or hearing loss, facing lengthy waiting periods before they begin therapy. Many also have to travel long distances to see a speech therapist, which can limit how often they receive therapy. This of course can result in many children missing the opportunity to find their voice.
In April 2019 Spokle was accepted into disability focused start-up accelerator, Remarkable, a division of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. The Spokle team was set an ambitious target – by the end of the accelerator in July they were to increase monthly app downloads by 5 times the pre-accelerator number.
Being a start-up with a lean team, Spokle engaged Vertere Marketing to assist with implementing an online marketing campaign to target potential clients in Indonesia and The Philippines, with a focus on Facebook advertising.
After an intense testing phase, in July Vertere Marketing implemented everything we had learned about Spokle’s target market into a Facebook advertising campaign which not only exceeded expectations by increased monthly downloads by 12 times the pre-accelerator rate – double the target - but also reduced the cost per acquisition by a phenomenal 95%!
